Vitamin String Quartet's Tribute to Billie Eilish
The Vitamin String Quartet (VSQ) has released a new album titled VSQ Performs Billie Eilish, which creatively reinterprets 15 of Eilish's iconic songs using classical strings. This album showcases beloved tracks like "What Was I Made For?" and "Ocean Eyes," emphasizing the emotional depth and introspective nature of Eilish's music that has resonated with fans since her rise to fame in 2015. Violinist Leah Zeger expressed the joy of transforming Eilish's raw and cinematic songwriting into a string format, making it ideal for classical reinterpretation.
Formed in Los Angeles in 1999, VSQ has successfully merged pop and classical music, boasting an extensive catalog of covers from various artists. Their arrangements have gained popularity in film and television, notably in the hit series Bridgerton, expanding their audience significantly. The new album not only highlights Eilish's musical evolution but is also accompanied by a North American and UK tour scheduled through 2026, where VSQ will continue to blend classical precision with pop appeal in historic venues.
